glow plug module

i have a 2002 excursion and i am getting a p0683 code. i bought a new module and that didnt fix it. i have power on the red wire with KOEO and power at both black/orange wires with the key off. what else should i check?

anyone? is there another forum out there that may provide me the answers? i have to drive this truck pulling my other car from california to Virginia next month. i need to get this fixed

So the 683 is about communication with the PCM I see (I don't have one, I guess I'm better-off with a simple relay ). You say you've got good power to it, how about Ground? Be sure you have the 12v with it running the plugs (loaded) if you unplug the EOT it should activate the GPs for a min or two and give you time to check...

glow plugs dont effect driving, they are too help with starting.

yes i know that i should have been clearer. i want to start my trip without the CEL on so if a problem does come up i will see it.
