Not the CPS!!

I have a 1997 stroke, auto, with Edge EZ. It has 118k miles. Fuel pump replaced about 80k, CPS replace about 70K, battery's and alt replaced 3 months ago.

I drove the pickup about 50 miles and did not have a problem. I stopped for about 2 hours and it would not start. It would crank, just not start. I had it towed home and replaced the camshaft posissoning sencor (CSP) with a new one. It still will not start. I ended up cranking it for about 20 seconds before it slowly caught and ran. While running, it ran rough at idle. 1500 rpm it sounded ok. When at a stop, it was just plane rough. I let the truck set over night and it would not start. I changed the cps with another new one and it still does not start. I have not tried to crank it for a long time again.

I am lost as to the problem.

I just checked the ?oil box? It is about 2 inches fromt he top. Thanks for the tip. I will read the last thread more and try to fix that problem.

It there a way to change the ball valve, or does the HPOP need to be changed?

I think you can change it but I belive it is a job. if you are not good with tools and working with stuff, you should prolly get someone who has done it before do it. That's what I have read.

OK. A pump is about $500. It does not look that hard to change. I still do not know where the ball check is and am looking around for it. I have not checked ebay yet.

did you check the oil in it. my brother in law has a 9.3 and it was low on oil and it would not crnk he put like 2 quarts of oil in it and it fired right off

your idm may be shot, i had a friend that had his go an him and it would crank but wouldn't even try to fire, everything else was fine. just something else to look into.
