are you all sure that your not gettin the price for the glow plugs as well? ive got a 00 f350 dually and a 99 f350 srw and i put plugs and a relay in the 99 last winter and it was like $90 for the plugs (autolites part #1111) and the relay was like $20 or $30 from auto value (which is pretty much just like a napa). and i just quoted all of that for $125 through o'rielieys for my 00.

Am I getting a glow plug relay and a glow plug switch mixed up? switches cost around 65- 70$ and relays cost about 200$ Which one is everbody talking about when they tell you your hard starting problem maybe the relay or the plugs. Could they be calling the glow plug switch the glow plug relay? Everybody keeps describing the relay as something that looks like a solinoid, but it is the switch that looks like a solinoid the relay is a rectangular shape device with connectors. I'm confused, can someone clear things up?

the power strokes use a standard type relay, the older mech 7.3's use a relay with a module underneath to guage the time the plugs stay powered. this is controlled by the comp on the powerstrokes. so 200 is way off for the powerstroke relay. see the pm i sent ya. i have a nib relay ill send ya

Bought a glow plug relay/switch/solenoid, at O'rielly auto parts for 50$. Starts right up in the morning at 20 degrees. If it wouldn't have been for all the great info on this forum, I would have never figured it out. This is definetely the best powerstroke forum on the internet! Still have that darn steering problem. Still trying to figure it out. Thanks to everyone!
