Hi Gang,
I have a 99 F250 with the 7.3 and I just changed the fuel filter with one from Carquest. I drained the fuel from the bowl and put in the new filter with the o ring around the bottom of the filter. Now my engine is leaking alot of fuel from the drain tube on the filter housing. Yes I did close the drain valve on the filter housing. Is the a seal or gasket that can go bad on the drain valve? I have 51,250 miles on the old girl. Any help out there will be appreciated. |

The plastic drain valve is 50 bucks at the ford house....it has 2 little O-rings that leak. You can buy just the O-rings from Ford also but it's almost as much as the whole valve.
You might be able to take those O-rings off and find replacements at Autozone or somewhere like that for a few bucks. |

Mine always leaks right after I drian it. For about a day then it stops I just figurd that it was residual fuel left in the tube.
