S%t

So, just got done doing a compression test. #1 has 0, #2 has 350 and #3 is at 425.

I quit after #3 since it really doesn't matter at this point. I was just making sure the gauge was working correctly or I would have stopped at #1.

Anything anyone else can think of that I should test before I tear it down. I am thinking no more testing is necessary at this point, other than maybe the C4 test.

Tomorrow I will tear into it and see what I find I guess.

that sucks man. Let us know what you find. Can you scope the cylinder with the injector out to see if there is a piston there?

It's going to be 12 here tonight. And I know what you mean about working out in the cold. I just replaced a steering gear box on a Top Kick tonight. It sucked bad.

Broken pushrod mistory?

Well, I finally got the engine out and the head removed. Now the problem is, I can't find anything wrong other than the 2 busted pushrods. I used a scope in the dead cylinder before I pulled the engine and it looked like the top of the piston was damaged, but after I got the head off it turned out to be carbon buildup.

Anyway, now I have a dilema. I can find anything obviously wrong other than a little head gasket damage from the pushrods. If I start tearing into it any further I know I am going to wind up doing a very costly rebuild with upgrades.

Now I am contemplating putting head gaskets on it, DIY injectors and then slap it back together and try for another 100,000 miles. I know the rebuild is the absolute best way to go, but that puts my truck down for a lot longer do to a lack of funds.

What do you all think.

Sorry bout the long post

I'd say if you are lacking funds. Replace the head gaskets while your there. Maybe head studs if your thinking of building this truck anytime. Put some stage one or two injectors in there. And let it go until you have money to do what you want with it.
