2000 7.3 misses when u let off the throtle - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

2000 7.3 misses when u let off the throtle

When your cruising and u let off the throttle and hit the brake it seems like the truck misses for a second then goes back to the normal idle sound. What could be causing this.

I think what you are talking about is normal. It happens somewhere around 40mph and slower when you hit the brakes.

I can't remember the technical explanation but I think the troque converter unlocks so you can coast instead of emgine braking to a stop.

Yeah that sounds right. I wasn't sure, just bought the truck and was making sure it wasn't something wrong. thanks
