'99 powerstroke smoking at startup?
During startup in the morning blue smoke that smells just like diesel fuel is emitted and will continue for about 2-3 minutes. It will then go away once its warmed up. The timer controller has already been changed, and the glow plugs have been checked. This has been a thorn in my side for about two years, and I just want to know what I can do to take care of the issue. The engine has a little over 120k miles on it, and I use it for daily errands and long hauls with a 36' fifth wheel. Please help. Joe

It's normal. Mine does it when it's pretty cold out. As long as it's NOT a thick smoke screen I wouldn't worry about it.
