ODB1 or ODB2
Ok, so I'm searching through eBay for a code reader, but I find my truck is on the cusp of the change-over year for protocols. Does anybody know for sure if my truck (a 1995 F250XLT) is Obd1 or Obd2?

I may be wrong, but I think those are obd1. I think the heavy duty trucks had until 98 to switch to obdII.

OK, thanks guys. I'll go take a pic. Next problem is how to post it. I'm a novice to forums as well as diesels.
You'll notice there isn't even a pic of my truck up yet! I guess photobucket, or something like it.

Hopefully this is the pic of the socket. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...F250socket.jpg
It's towards the passenger side, under the dash, to the right of centre viewed when sitting in the cab. |

Unless OBDI and II look the same, that looks like an OBDII to me.

Yep, I reckoned that too, but none of the suppliers I contacted would confirm which the 1995 is or commit themselves. These things ain't cheap over here!

Marc would know, I don't know why he hasn't been in here yet. I'll ask him myself if I see him online or something.
