Best 7.3 starter

I have had a advance auto reman I believe starter and lately it seems like its getting ready to quit. New alternator, batteries, clean terminals. It's starting to crank slow and act like it can't get started. I was wanting to replace it before it left me stranded. I was looking at a new DB for 109. Any other good brands or is the new DB good?

See if you have alocal starter alternator shop to repair the one you have. I don't know anything about the brand you are looking at but if it's a reman I go through those like water before I get a good one. Just my thought.

if your gonna replace your starter. make sure you get a high torque ghear reduction starter.

like this one New Ford 7 3 Diesel Starter Power Stroke High Torque 17802 | eBay

its so much better than those junk direct drives. every 7.3 that comes into our shop that needs a starter gets one of these. owners come back saying the truck has never started so good in all its life.

the install is simple. unbolt and take wires off old starter.
clean cable ends, as down on the bottom corrosion is terrible.
install the new starter with water drain facing down. this starter only installs with two bolts compared to three of the old direct drive starter.
hook big cable to big post. and little wire to little post or screw.
then spray terminal protectnt over them to prevent corrosion.

then enjoy your insanly fast spinning starter. your 7.3 will thank you
