What year is your truck. If it is 94.5-97. remove the fuel filter and drain the fuel out of the bowl. Then take a rag and wipe the inside of the housing. if it changes from a blackish to an aluminum color, your o-rings are leaking. This only works on a 94.5-97 because the fuel circulates back from the head to the filter on 99 and newer it doesn't If you have a 94.5 to 97 and havn't had your o-rings replaced most likely they are leaking. If you have a 99 and newer chances are they aren't leaking. The injector o-rings have been updated 5 or 6 times since the 94.5's the ones they use now seem to the ones that last. They have a pink o-ring in the center between the fuel and the oil gallies.

I've probably changed over a hundred sets of injector o-rings, very common in those years. I've seen them so bad that half of the o-ring between the oil and fuel was gone.

its a 2000 with a 175000 miles on it.if the injector orings are not bad then what causes the bluish smoke on 1st cold start up and what causes hpop to leak down. would bad injectors causes hpop to leak down or is that another problem.

With 175,000 miles it could be a number of things, bad injector, I havent seen injector o-rings leak on a 1999 or newer, it is possiblle, How do you know the hpop is leaking down, is it the resevoir leaking down, there is a check valve in the resevoir, it could be low compresssion from dirt ingestion, You will probalby see a little smoke at start up. could have a bad glow plug not heating up one of your cylinders??

i recently replaced glow plugs and relay.hpop resevoir does leak down,im trying to diag.either a bad check valve leaking or i was told the injectors leaking could cause the hpop to leak down also.i leaning towards the injectors but the truck still runs fine. it just has aproblem with the first start up of the day. slow to build oil pres unless i top off the hpop res. first.
