Hard starting

I just bought an 02 excursion and it needs to be plugged in to start below freezing. It has the new style glow plug controller, do they have as much trouble as the old relay and how do I test it? I believe starter and batteries are good. Any other ideas on what might be going on?

Yup. Sounds like just the nature of the beast. It never hurts to switch out the glow plugs, too.

If you ever think something I post is ridiculous or uneducated, just remember that I probably learned it from here.
