Take the air filter off of the turbo compressor housing. Wiggle the turbo compressor back/forth and in/out. If there's excessive play, the turbo is the cause of the white smoke. Never hurts to replace the Cam position sensor either; they are about $30 and can cause all sorts of intermittent problems regarding power loss/ stalling. Also, look into injector o-rings. Bad o-rings can cause oil leaks and rough idling/ power loss.
