Vacuum leak??

My defroster lately is my only heating vent, because I'm not building vacuum. I put my finger on the outlet port of the pump and it turned off so I think it's good. Unhooked the outlet at the resivior and plugged it. Pump turned off after 5 mins. Checked under passenger dash and everything looked good. Plugged hub lines still no vacuum, any ideas?

Just because the pump "appears" to be working doesn't mean that it is. Had a buddy with the same issue he just replaced the pump.

5 minutes for it to build enough vac including the reservoir while it's plugged after that seems like long time IMHO

now if u include the HVAC does it not shut off ever ?
are you sure the defrost is because of a no vacuum issue ?

you can try to hook up the HVAC but bypass the esof solenoid also since they can fail to atmosphere that will help isolate
