i got all my parts injectors glow plugs turbo. ihave oil in my fuel bowl my hpop res. looks empty is that norm for bad injectors or is there somthing wrong with oil pump? thanks

From what I have found out recently. 1) HPOP res should have oil up to bout 3/4" from the top. If no oil you could bee loosing it at the injector O rings. Just did injectors on mine, was loosing oil on the #1 injector. 2) are you using any kind of scan tool to monitor ICP?

check to make sure you have proper level of oil in the crankcase. The hpop should be 1/2-3/4 full from top. The lpop is what feeds it. Its possible the checkvalve is bleeding down...(3/8 square plug to left of hpop, down in valley). Oil in fuel is from bad orings around the injectors.

Hello All;
I have a 2001 7.3 and have just installed new gauge pillar with one being an HPOP gauge. Does anyone know what the normal levels should be? Are readings done at idle, hot, cold or RPM?

Proper levels...

Wish people would come here before buying some of this stuff...

A HPO Pressure gauge in and by itself is worthless... Knowing your pump is making 2200psi at 1900 RPM's means its great, if the pump is working at 18% duty cycle... but if its at 2200psi at 45% duty cycle it means your pump is weak, or the injector O rings or internals are leaking, or any number of other things...

You would have been FAR better off to get a fuel pressure gauge.
