Early 99 Intermittent no crank, no lights

My early 99 F250 will crank and start once, but if I come back later in the day, it will either click-click-click, or not even crank. My batteries are charged, and connected cleanly (to my knowledge), but nothing will happen when I turn the key to ON, with engine off. sometimes the dash lights will light up (battery reading <8 volts), and sometimes absolutely nothing will happen.

If I mess with the battery connections, sometimes it will crank again, sometimes it won't. But no matter what, it always has the problem after I leave it for a while.

All I need is another problem...

If you ever think something I post is ridiculous or uneducated, just remember that I probably learned it from here.
