Bad Injector?

Please help. My truck has a mind of its own. I will randomly shut off or stutter. Heres the catch, it only happens intermittently and usually only when i'm downtown or on a highway near downtown (columbus, ohio). (EX this saturday I was downtown and it died, the truck started back up but ran like crap. If i put it in gear and gave it throttle it would die again. If it sat and idled, it would idle extremely rough. I had it towed back to my house 10 miles from CBUS and rolled it off of the truck and it started right back up i drove it for 30 miles with no issues and parked it. I did not start it Sunday. This morning I started it and it smoked like a banshee and was missing i think untill it warmed up and then it was fine, like nothing happened) Once it dies, it may or may not start back up and then after a few hours it will clear up and act like nothing happened and it may not happen again for weeks/months it throws no CEC/SES light, at first I thought maybe it was IDM or UVCH but a mechanic suggested today that it could be a bad injector spring allowing air into the system and causing issues. Sometimes it will just drop rpms and then jump them right back up and run fine, sometimes it dies completely. I changed the ICP,CPS and cleaned the IPR with no fix. Is there a way to distinguish mechanical vs electrical?

This morning I started it up for the first time since saturday when it shut down on me. The motor sounded like it was missing until it got warm and cleared up and i have had no issues since then. Any suggestions?
