injector problems

my boss has a 7.3 it had 8 bad injectors replaced with new ones and an oil leak fixed. he got it back and there is a knocking noise that comes and goes. he took it to diesel plus in ringgold ga. the guy who owns the place just told my boss that they heard it too and it was to problem. it sounds like a rod knocking or something. any help would be great.

This is just a guess without being able to hear it but the #8 injector is a long lead injector because Ford went to a dead head fuel system in 99. If the shop replaced #8 with a standard injector it will cause a cackle sound which is similar to a knock. But before you start digging into anything, you should get a scanner and run a buzz test and a contribution test.
