Question Overheating while towing uphill

My e99 7.3L is starting to overheat while towing uphill. It has never done this before. Just changed oil and coolant level was fine. Going down hill it cooled off and ran fine. I do have air restriction screen in grill and it was warm outside. I might have #4 & #8 injectors not working. Any help or Ideas?

had the same problem on my 02 PS went through everything i could think of replaced all the hoses waterpump cleaned the fins on radiator ac condenser and intercooler ended up replacing the radiator worked fine after that when I opened up the old radiator there was silicon blocking about 1/3 of the tubes looked like snot hanging out of them hope this helps

whats overheating...trans or motor? May want to install a 6.0 trans cooler and have your radiator flushed/cleaned out. A member had that done and couldn't believe the noticable difference it made.

99.5 x-cab 7.3l, 6spd, 161k miles.....

Mines doing the same thing. Would bad injectors make the engine heat up? I will follow this close so please let us know what u find and I will do the same
