No power, restart, full power

As the title says. I can start out, have full power, go down the road about 10 and it starts shifting horrible, no power. Pull over, shut her down. Start it back up and it's good to go.

No lights, don't know about codes as I have no way to scan.

Any ideas?

Oh it smokes! I can blow coal with the best of them, but not when it's sluggish.

I have no device to pull any codes...

if you can get it to a parts store they have a scanner you can borrow. just have to leave your id with them.

I would check the two big grounds at the block first then go from there. Can you get to a parts store that will scan it?

I'll check the grounds.

The auto parts store can only scan if the cel light is on.

Passenger front corner of block follow battery ground to a stud. Driver side goes to block also I've seen then in a couple different places just follow the neg cables. Have you checked the engine harness by the driver side valve cover?
