2000 excursion fuel? issue?

Hey guys..having what I think is a fuel delivery issue but cannot nail it down. Truck is a 2000 excursion, 126K and bone stock!. Runs like a champ..no issues, but.... will not RPM past 2500...falls on its face until the RPMs fall back below 2500 and then picks up like nothing happened. Filters are done..tank has been out.. It will even pull a load (trailer) with no problems..untill you push it over 2500 RPM. Anyone ever experience anything similiar. Just came back from a 300 mile trip with a small trailer 3K lbs..got 14.6 MPG but would not run past 2500.I'm stumped. thanks

Check fuel pressure. You'll have to buy the gauge and run a line into the cab to measure under load at the RPMs your seeing it die.
Could be a boost leak too.
