new to me oil leak

Hello everyone, just joined. Bought a 1999 f250 Friday with the 7.3. Truck is beutiful with no rust. Guy said he just put 5,000.00 in motor and had paperwork to prove it. New oil cooler with lines, new injectors, turbo, brakes. Said no leaks. Well I go out and lay under the truck and see a drip of oil on the gound and one forming on the housing cover. My question is from reading the forum is should I order the master cabinet kit from diesel orings? And just replace all possible suspects. And at that point is it something that someone who has never owned a diesel can do? Can I do it in a weekend.I am mechanically inclined, just don't know if there are any torque specs with all the bolts.

the kit is easy to install. Take ur time, and everything is managle by a weekender wrencher. The kit should have torque specs..(i installed one 3yrs ago). First though, climb atop the motor and have a look in the valley. Locate if the puddle is in there and location...under fuel bowl or under the turbo pedestal. Its possible, its coming from the pedestal rod assy..(ebpv rod). If so, the kit doesnt fix that, thats an additional 200 buks or either gut the pedestal you have now or buy a gutted pedestal..(depending on ur winter temps, the ebpv assy comes into play)...Other than that, ya man, just a time consuming job.

99.5 x-cab 7.3l, 6spd, 161k miles.....
