Hesitation/rough running at 1600-2000 rpm

hey guys,

my early 99 has a studder/hesitation that can be heard when revving up at a stop and holding at around 2k RPM and can be felt when accelerating around 1600-2000 RPM

my exhaust in eye burning at idle.

iv ran a buzz test all but two injectors sound the same and the ones that dont are kinda loud.

could it be my injector clearences are out of spec? or maybe my IDM is going bad? or i just need to send my injectors to jim at rosewood for a basic overhaul?

thoughts and inputs would be great! thanks guys!

I would get someone with a scan tool like ae and do a buzz test before you send off ur injectors. Could be ipr valve, or valve cover gaskets or under valve cover harness.

I did a buzz test and the scan tool said it passed. But a couple injectors do sound off louder than the rest.

Could it also be the cps?

I chased a low rpm (1500-2000) shudder for a year, buzz test was good, new ipr, new icp etc. I finally replaced all injectors and now the truck is like ne again.

I don't like reading this but I fear that that is how Colin and I are going to solve our problems..... Ive been fighting this annoying junk for a year now too.

Mine will be fine for about a mile in the morning, then the SES light comes on and it has no throttle response and runs like what Colin has described. Then it will randomly go off and the throttle comes back but it makes a weird, loud, uneven, flutering hissing noise and jumps and bucks on acceleration with the uneven noise......

You'll have to run a CCT, that should help you narrow it down. Especially if the CCT shows the same as the less noisy injectors.

How many miles are on them? If not a whole lot then try draining the HPOP reservoir and fill it with RevX.
