Question NEW here! Truck does not smoke at full throttle.

I just got my Power Stroke, it is a

1999 Ford F350 Power Stroke Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 "Auto" 253K Miles

ATS Torque Pro 2000 Propane Injection System
50 gallon propane tank
Stage 2 Injectors
K&N Intake
3.5 Exhaust
Air Lift
100 gal. Spare Fuel Tank
NEW Tranny
NEW Transfercase
NEW Turbo

At full throttle it just does not smoke, I have even loaded up the motor still no smoke. Should I be worried!

Welcome to the site. When you are trying to get it to smoke, are you using your drugs or just going off the motor alone? Sounds like you got a sweet set up.

It was on all motor I have not touch the propane yet. I did go and look over the motor and found something that just make me so pissed off There is a injector just sitting under the turbo not connected to the intake manifold. How can a dealer not see something like that.

Now I need an opinion about how bad do you think it hurt the motor, not having an injector?

The max boost I hit while driving around was 21 psi. I have put about 50 miles on the truck since I test drove it. No tell how long the own drove it. Most of the time I was driving the truck had around 8 psi.

Now I am not a diesel person, but I have worked on a few cars in my time, just not diesel.

I was thinking that not having an injector in would burn valves and maybe melt a piston for the cylinder that the injector was out of.

Please post your ideas.

Thanks, Matt

As far as the injector, I am not sure. I do know that if you have a stock or stock size turbo, you max boost will be 24-25psi. Some get a little bit more and some get less. Depends on a lot of things. 21 does not sound too bad. What kind of guages do you have, analog or digital. That will make a difference in what you are seeing too. Did you put the injector back in? If so what happened?

i find it hard tp believe that it only has 7 injectors in it. are you sure that they didn't just leave an injector laying under the hood when they installed the stage 2 injectors

I got the truck with stage 2 supposed to be on it, the injector that I saw is connected to the harness. I did not touch it because I am going to try to kick the dealership in the a**. I am not going to start or move the truck until I talk to them.

The other thing this truck does not miss or run bad in any way. Why is that, you would think running only on 7 injectors it would run like sh*t.

Yeah you would know that you were missing an injector. It's likely they just forgot that injector. Man those things are huge. As far as not smoking if you're getting enough air in the combustion chamber it will burn all of the fuel and there won't be any smoke.....
