NEED HELP QUICK PLEASE?

i got a 00 f250 7.3 and today i jumped in it to go to work and the damn thing wouldnt fire. my wait to start light came on like normall and went off and i was getting diesel to the motor cause i could smell the gas and had white smoke coming out my stacks but the damn thing wouldnt fire. it acted like it was going to one time when i held the accelerator to the floor but it didnt. can anybody help me on what could be wrong so i dont go buy all kinda parts to fix it that i dont need. |

I'm not for sure if a bad cam sensor would make it do that, but did you get that recall notice a while back for ford to change your cam sensor?
