Idling engine died - won't restart

Pretty much sums it up really.


'97 350 XLT. It's been relegated to second truck status this winter and of course, when I needed it, it lived up to its name.

Started fine, I left it idling to defrost the windscreen and get the rest of my stuff together. Came back out about 30 minutes later, truck had died. It wouldn't turn over, no puffs of smoke, nothing.
I've tried new batteries, tried jumping it with my Jeep, nothing.
Lights, radio etc all work. Cycles through the glow plugs fine (as far as I can tell) WTS light comes on, goes off)

Anything obvious I should try next?


I'm over in the UK, so everything to do with this truck is complicated by the fact I'm a ham fisted monkey and none of my local mechanics want to deal with it.

Mine did the same thing , and it was the CPS ( cam position sensor )..

Also there is a recall for that problem.
