Code 282 Cyl 8 Inj cercuit low

I am getting a code 282 on my 7.3. It says Cylinder 8 Injector circuit low. The truck will not run at all unless you hold it down half throttle. It is a 1995 Ford 7.3. I was told it is the harness that plugs into the injectors. I have not been into one before and don't know what kind of a job that is. If anyone has any help please let me know. I am not sure if it is the harness or the injector. Jeff

Any help please. I am getting alot of different answers here at home. I have one persn that says I need to pull the head to change the injector and the next person says I don,t. I was told it could be the harness that hooks to the injector and is made in the cover gasket or the injector itself. I have worked on gas engines for thirty years but not diesels.

ya you should first inspect your harness going in to your valve cover gasket and then move foward to the valve cover gasket its self and then inspect your wiring harness, not a big job just oilie. its pretty easy not much more then nuts and bolts and an ohm meter

Thanks I am waiting to get a little money ahead, then I am going to check it out. As bad as it sounds I am driving my little car to get 32 mpg at 3.19 a gal instead of 18 mpg at 3.89 a gal. But I sure miss my truck!

Under Valve Cover Harness is around 20 bucks from International. Did you have you CPS changed at the dealer. Word is the new CPS is causing a problem with #8 injector for some reason.

I have had this truck for about 11 months and was told by the owner that he had ford replace all the injectors but I don't know about the CPS. I will check with him. Thanks Jeff

Well I got around to work on my truck and I pulled the valvecover off and when I did I smelled burnt wires. I took off the gasket and the rear plug for the harness is melted. I think that is it. Thanks Jeff
