Rock bottom, just got deeper! HELP URGENT

So I got into an accident, broke my plow, mirrow window, and what not. now, just when it cant get any worse, as i was plowing my truck sherded another belt, but this time we got more problems, it broke my dipstick and sent the rod down into the pan or where ever it goes? any ideas on how to get this out????

How much do you have still attached to the handle?

WOW thats doesn't sound good you might possibly be able to take the dip stick tube loose from the pan where the big nut is that holds it on and then fish it out through that hole possibly but if not you would probably have to pull the motor and remove the pan. Good Luck man

Autoparts store in town sells a powerful magnet on a extendable handle. It is about the size of a .22 bullet. I got a bigger one for picking wrenches and screws off the floor, works great.

there is a 10mm bolt holding the dipstick tube to the bracket. take the dipstick tube out and as your taking it out grabp the dipstick at the bottom of the tube.

okay im going to try looking for the bolt, thanks i got nothing left on the handle. i found the handle on the street.

well, turns out i tried the magnet, no luck, un bolted it, but it was stuck in the pan so i wasnt forcing it out of there too much, because all i was thinking about was taking the motor out to change pans... so i cut the dipstick tube, about a foot infront of the pan. and sure as my luck, empty. so at this point i am assuming the handle broke and must have sent the stick somewheres else????
