Won't start/stall

On an early '99 7.3. Had brake work done by a local tech. When I went to pick it up, it wouldn't start. We tried starter fluid. It would run on the fluid but not stay running. I suggested the cps. Instead, he left it on a trickler overnight and it started right up. When I drove it home, it stalled out a few times. Each time I could immediately start it up. Yesterday, I want to start it up, and, no joy. So I replaced the cps, still nothing. So I checked all the fuses in the engine bay. The only blown one was a 7.5, so I swapped it out. Nothing. I have noticed that the "wait" light/glow plug light isn't coming on. I thought that was due to the cps. FWIW, the new cps is a Ford part, not aftermarket.

Any ideas!??!! TIA!!!!

I should mention that before this, only in really cold weather did she need to be plugged in and would start on the first turn every time as long as I gave her a good glow. She performed flawlessly on a trip from NY to MD recently. And, she has about 210K on the clock.

We have a winner, on another board. PCM fuse! Really, the PO wires up the plow through this fuse, and it had worked itself loose. Have to configure something better.

Great that you found the problem, but NEVER use staring fluid on these engines. Ether is one of the few things that will destroy a 7.3 PS. You might be ok because your PCM didn't kick on the glow plugs, but using ether is a good way to crack a ring. You might want to find a new mechanic, and I'm not trying to be mean.
