'96 7.3 cutting out?

I just got this truck it runs great not moving but cuts in and out hard going down road where should I start? It has 392,000 miles.

i would check the wiring harness were it goes threw the valve cover gaskets, the valve cover gasket plugs, and the harness under the valve covers. if it were me

start with changing the fuel filter and checking fuel pressure.......

then check the harnesses as the gentleman above suggested......

with that many miles a compression test, cylender contribution test, and injector buzz test (the last two need to be done with a high dollar scan tool) would be something worth doing too...
