whats the record on alternators going out?

today i replaced my fourth alternator in 2 years. thats gotta be a record. good thing i got the lifetime warranty but something is obviously wrong here to be replacing an alterator every six months. anyone have any ideas? btw the only non stock electrical thing i have is an xm radio reciever with the lighter adapter so i assume its not going out cuz im pusing it to hard. hellllppp!!!
