what does OBD II mean

I called the muffler shop to get a straite pipe in place of my cat conv, they said it was OBD II and would show check engine light if I did this, Is that true?????

On Board Diag. What truck do you have? The only truck that would trip a SAS light is the o8........

97 psd obs 7.3, so is it ok to eliminate cc

You will not set off the check engine light. There are no O2 sensors on a diesel like a gas engine.

I aggree as well. Although getting a muffler shop to remove the cat maybe hard to do.

I suggest you save some money and find a buddy with a welder and do it yourself.


Oh and OBD II is On Board Diagnostics 2nd generation. Anything prior to 96 and late 95 had OBD I which is On Board Diagnostics 1st generation.

Keep the cat in case of inspections and get a cat delete pipe for 50 bucks or so. No welding. DIY
