Rough Idle

I have a 96 e-series van with the 7.3 turbo. It starts fine and runs fine untill it warms up. after warming up it has a rough idle. I have replaced the ECM and the ICP. Getting ready to buy a IPR. Wanted to know if there was a chance it could be something else cause the IPR is about 300$ and I dont want to spend that money unless I have to.

remove and clean the EBP tube....

check the ICP sensor for an oil leak...

Is there any codes??

No it is not throwing any codes and there is no oil leak around the ICP. I have cleaned the EBP tube and that did help some. Now it will idle smooth when you are sitting still but when you let off the gas and are coasting it is still idling rough.

havent change the oil since I have put all the new stuff on it but it was changed about 1300 miles ago. I can try changing it again and see what happens.

are you sure you put CJ oil in it and not SJ???? (CJ is compression iginition oil and SJ is spark ignition oil)

on the back of the bottle....right by the API rating.....it will say CJ3 or CJ 4 if its the right oil...

im just narrowing down the basics before we really troubleshoot....

Im guessing you need new injector o rings...... it might be worth putting new o rings on the IPR valve too....

while you have the valve covers off i would check the resistance of all the glow plugs....

but lets start with the basics first...

Also...check your fuel pressure...make sure it isnt a weak fuel pump
