SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

I HAVE A 97 PSD I REPLACED THE GLOW PLUGS, GLOW PLUG HARNESSES, VALVE COVER GASKETS, GLOW PLUG RELAY, FUEL FILTER AND OIL. BEFORE I CHANGED THE GLOW PLUGS IT RAN FINE, THE REASON I CHANGED EVERYTHING IS BECAUSE THE GLOW PLUG HARNESSES MELTED. AFTER I CHANGED ALL OF THESE THINGS MY TRUCK WANTS TO CRANK AND CRANK (ABOUT 5-15 SECONDS) BEFORE IT WANTS TO START. ONCE I GET IT STARTED AND LET IT RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES I SHUT IT OFF AND IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP LIKE IT SHOULD WITH NO PROBLEMS BUT IF I LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO IT GOES BACK TO CRANKING AND CRANKING AGAIN. THERE IS SOME SMOKE UPON STARTING BUT NOT TOO MUCH. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME I WOULD APPRECIATE IT ALOT.

Sounds like you're having a fuel delivery issue.

check your high pressure oil resevour to see if its draining down after it sits......

Its the plug on the top front center of the motor on that aluminum canister....the oil should be one inch or less from the top of the resevour.....

well....if it is low....i would first try replacing the injector o rings and the o rings on the IPR valve...... the injector o rings on the older trucks were a bad design and the replacement ones are better. That is gonna help you even if it doesnt fix the problem. The IPR o rings wear out sometimes too...so that would be a good thing to check....

If it still drains down there is a check ball that could be bad....but thats VERY rare...
