HARD STARTS AND MISSING

Hello to all, I am actually on this forum to ask a question for my dad who has a '99 PSD (I do not have problems because I drive a Cummins!!

) Well if your still willing to listen he is having trouble with the truck starting whether it's hot,cold, or plugged in. When it does finally get running it stumbles at idle and sounds like it's missing at times. I feel that it maybe a fuel delivery issue like a bad transfer pump, Buts thats just my guess it could be something with the fuel filter or possibly a glow plug or a sensor or worse injectors?

Any thoughts or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thank you

p.s. The truck is completely stock with no performance enhancements or guages

maybe something simple like the cam position sensor? there was a recall a while back if you havent already had it done.
p.s. sorry about the dodge attached to that cummins

They needed something stout enough to handle all this POWER from a REAL DIESEL!! :burnout

does it always miss or does the miss clear up warm??

Marc I'm not to sure to be honest I'm gonna talk to my dad today and let him know some of these things and ask him a few more detailed questions.Thank you

By the way Marc I see you are a Griz Fan are you from MT.? I live down in Corvallis 45mi. south of Msla.

yes sir....born in butte....raised in the flathead...moved out of bozo about 3 years ago

My folk live in missoula now.....

I used to wrestle against a lot of corvallis guys......i went to high school in columbia falls....

How funny My wife and I moved to Corvallis 4 yrs ago from Helmville via lots of other places in MT. WY. but I went through school in Msla. Where in Cali. are you exactly?

on the central coast between monterey and santa cruz right in the middle of farm country
