01 7.3 coolant leak

Leaking coolant from the front of the engine. I am guessing water pump even though it only has 60 K on it. Hose connections all look dry. Most gassers have a hole in the water pump that you can usually see a leak when the pump is bad. Does the 7.3 pump have that where you can actually see it? Read the forum on how to change it. Looks pretty straigh forward. $140bucks at every auto parts place in Omaha.

check your factory hose clamps(squeeze type) they can appear ok but actually be broken, causing a leak at times. I also wanna know the answer to your question about the water pump

Yep it has a weep hole for the bearing under the pully

I swapped out my water pump today. Solved my problem. I think my fan clutch is bad. When it was cold and I gave it a spin it would only go about a half a turn. It is pretty stiff. Should'nt it turn pretty free when it is real cold?
Next question, has anyone gone with electric fans on the 7.3? A new fan clutch is $180. I would think I could get a couple of nice electric fans for around that. Mine is a 01 F250.
