Im sure this has been asked thousands of times but ive read like 20 threads on this now, and cant get a straight answer.. what is the correct p/n for a GOOD cps, and should I get it from ford or IH, I got mine from advance and it was one of the gray ones, got about 1500 miles on it, and dead... I have a 2000 7.3
Here's the numbers I have, but keep in mind, some of this stuff hasn't been made for Many Years. You may not be able to find some of them or, have to pay a ridiculous price that's not really worth the change. Realize that, despite claims of vast improvements, 95% of 7.3's out there are running on the Grey Replacement without any real problems (and we KNOW the Black one Is Unreliable )
Original Black CPS
Ford: F7TZ-12K073-A
IH(equivlant): 1825899C93
IH(superceded version): 1821720C99
Recall Grey CPS
Ford: F7TZ-12K073-B
IH(equivlant): 1876735C91
97-03 original CPS (black): Ford Part # - F7TZ-12K073-A, corresponding IH Part # - 1825899C93
97-03 updated CPS (grey): Ford Part # - F7TZ-12K073-B, corresponding IH Part # - 1876735C91
IH DT466 original CPS (blue): IH Part # - 1807339C92
IH DT466 updated CPS (grey)*: IH Part # - 1885812C91
Thanks a bunch! so pretty much just stay away from the aftermarket ones, like ones from advance or napa, and stick with ones from ford or ih? from all the threads Ive read that's what I see.
welp, I guess ill just go for the gray one from the stealership, and hopefully shell last a while.
