7.3 runs rough and white smoke (raw fuel smell)

Hi guys Im new to the forum , In need of some help

I have a 99 f-350 5 speed 4x4 7.3 With 230,000 It have been running rough and white Smoke ( smells like raw Unburned fuel) and Last Night When I got off the hwyway I push in the clutch and stall out , I restarted it and ran rough like before , But never stalled till last night ,

I have fuel in the coolant , Seen that this morning , So (cups) ?

And How can I till if I just need Injector "O" Rings or ALL new injectors ?
And can they be sent out to get cleaned cheaper ?

either way bud, with fuel in coolant, you'll need to remove injectors to get to the cups. RiffRaff has the cups along with the toll installer/remover on loan/rent. Then, with injectors out, lace them with new orings, which riffraff has also.

What year 99 you have?

It's the cups. If it were just O rings you'd have fuel in the oil.

With that many miles on the injectors I'd spring for a new set. I believe rosewood diesel does budget friendly rebuilds.

6/98 , I dont know what Injectors are in it , and I drive it everyday so Its hard to take a cover off to check what injectors it has ..

Can you guy help me out and give me some web sites to buy this stuff from

and what do you thinking the chances are I can just put "o" rings in it and be ok . I mean I will buy injectors But I dont know What I have in there now ?

And What do you think is causing the stalling ? As soon as I push the clutch in riding down the road coming to a stop it stalls..

THIS, my friend, will consist of removing the valve covers, injectors AND the cups, in order to be fixed, unfortunetly.

With your year truck, it called for, regular green or gold coolant. Now, with the injector cup replacement, using the new FORD sealant, you can run ELC, which then ,you'll never have to worry about SCA's balancing, again.

Riffraff Diesel: Motorcraft 7.3L Injector Cup Kit

You'll want to remove as much oil from the hpop as possible, as well.

My ect is reading -40 as well. Needs a coolant temp sensor but there are 2 on these trucks. Not sure which one is gauge and which is PCM. And not to be a jerk but it doesn't matter how many fuel filters you put in or additive you put it, it needs cups that's the only way to fix your problem. The more you run it the worse it will get and could Damage other things. I'd get them done soon. I just did two sets in the last 2 weeks. With the tool from rosewood its not a terrible job to do

My truck is a 5 speed and is at -40 I have a sensor that I am going to istall ,

Something I found out today , When I took the oil cap off when it was running, it was puffing white smoke from the oil cap ,? Blown motor ? Runs to good for that > Any way Im going ti install cups, and o ring this coming weekend
