7.3 crank discolored?????
I'm changing my oil pan on my motor and saw some discoloring around the main and rod journals. Is this normal, what may it be from? Do they harden the journals or could it be from the machine process?? I took a main and rod caps off and they seem to be in great shape for 120k on them and don't seem to have been run without oil.
Thanks in advance for any info, Ron |

7.3 crank
From your pic's it looks good.I've had cranks that were deep blue with scratches of chrome across. If thats what you have its starving for oil.I didn't see that on yours, but you can tell if you lift a bearing. When Im down that far,I get the dremel out.
![]() Your eyes will give you the experiance, good luck.Looks good so far. |
