Problem: Loud squealing noise coming from area around A/C compressor. Compressor still functions just fine and the clutch is engaging/disengaging as I'm assuming it should.
Background: Factory stock 7.3 with 138K in '01 F-250. Problem manifested immediately after dealership R&R'ed water pump and installed new serpentine belt. (NOT blaming dealer mechanic!) Less than 200 miles driven after squeal started.
- Should I suspect the compressor clutch bearing and if so how difficult is it to remove faulty bearing and press in new one? (Pretty mechanically inclined but any tips/hints would be appreciated)
- Is it possible that the idler pulleys for the tensioner could be at fault?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide as well as your time.
