Increased Vibration from synthetic?

I know in my gas motored cars, I've found that synthetic oil led to the motor being a bit noisier.

Has anyone found this to be true in 7.3L PSDs?

Since I've swapped in the Amsoil 15-40, I've found that while my motor starts more quickly and runs great on the highway, at idle, with my foot on the brake pedal, the vibration through my foot is noticeable and distracting. Seems to have started since my swap to the synthy. It's been bad weather, so I've been wearing my waterproof steel toe boots as well...maybe that's the cause and the vibration is the same and I'm just noticing it more, but I have definitely noticed more vibration at idle.

Anyone else experienced a similar phenomena?

Had been running it on bio, ran out and had to switch to #2. Seems the vibration remains...so I don't think it's fuel causing it. The only thing that's changed is the oil. It's weird, it runs so smoothly on the highway and at any rpm above idle...

Oh well, if I can go 10K miles between oil changes, it's a small sacrifice to make.

shaking

I have been running amsoil for a year in my truck, along with everything else and have never had anything to complain about. I will never go back to non synthetic.

Yeah, believe me it's not that big of a deal, certainly not enough to negate the advantages of Amsoil. I just found it interesting that just like in gas motors, you get a bit more noise on the synthy.

Who else out there made the switch to Amsoil? And why did you make the switch on your 7.3L. Also what other advantages do you get for running Amsoil? Just a lot of questions. Wondering if I should change also..

Mjc, you got mail.

I haven't really noticed any noticeable jump in power, but the Amsoil does help it start faster and more smoothly. That bucking, hesitating start is gone. The synthy has better cold flow properties, and that makes me think you have lots more protection on startup--the most dangerous time for a diesel or any other motor.

I'm thinking it'll help cold weather startups this winter. A teeny bit of extra noise isn't really all that big of a deal, but I would be curious to see if anyone else has experienced that.
