Random click/clack, not sure where

I'm trying to track down a random clack coming from the motor (other than the normal diesel sound). It almost sounds like a bb or something kind of hitting in the motor, but I can't determine where it is coming from. At first I thought it was the TC, but I think it may be the motor. It doesn't sound like it speeds up with engine revolutions, which is weird. Should I pull the valve covers to take a look, is it common for something to come loose? Also, is there anything on the bottom end of the motor that would make this sound. It doesn't really sound like a knock it is more of a click.... click click....... click ............ click...... click click click.. and so on, could it be an injector? I wish I could identify the damn sound but the rest of the motor is just so loud!

Left side of the steering wheel, flick the turn signal off...that will fix your problem; but honestly I don't know. Bump Bump Bump
