HELP! My 95 F350 died on my wife while she was cruising down the road. She said that the battery gauge jumped all over the place after she started it back up. Then for about a minute the gauge seemed to "rev" with the truck. After that she ran fine. So I changed the fuel filter under the hood. I started it up and it died after about 3 min of idling. It continued to die at random times lasting no longer than 5 min of running time. I changed the Camshaft position sensor. It didn't want to turn over. I attempted it about 5 times then let her sit for a day. After that it took rt off and ran like a champ for about 5 min then died again. And continues to die with no more than 3 min idle time. I attempted to save its death by getting on the throttle but out of 5x's I only managed to save it once. Almost like something internal isn't allowing the fuel to flow??? Previously the exhaust was shuffling out a small amount of white smoke and it was running (what felt to me as rough for the first 5 min) I assumed it was just the diesel's age. It only has 120,000 miles. What could it be? Please help this is the only vehicle my family can fit in. I know the basic rules of a gas engine. Diesel is another world. ANY advice would be well received.
