High Pitch Whistle

About 2 weeks ago, I had a Wicked Wheel installed. Now, I am hearing a very high pitched whistle sound. It's a higher tone "dog whistle" sound than other PSD's I've heard. It is almost irritating to hear in the cab. Is this normal? thanks in advance for any thoughts.

To be totally honest i think the wicked wheels and those compressor wheels that have the 2 fin heights are crap. I installed one on my turbo about 5 days ago and i hated it. It lowers your boost, raises your egt temps and they do make more of a high pitched whistle than a normal wheel would. But the do eliminate turbo surge like they say they do. I just replaced mine back to my old one yesterday because i hated it so much. I would guess that is where your whistle is comming from but mine wasnt to the point of where you couldnt stand it but it was noticalby louder. Watch your boost gauge and see if the whistle goes up and down with the boost. If that's not it than i couldn't tell you.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you based on my experiences. Performance for me is better with the WW. truck takes off the line quicker, builds boost lightening fast! and the surge is gone entirely. Now pulls my trailer down the highway with greater ease too. EGT's are 30-40 d cooler as best I can tell so far. The only complaint I have is that high-pitched whistle when towing/under load. Seems the whistle is there even at low boost meaning I likely do not have a boost leak?? (I like the whistle of the pre '99's) My guess is that our differing mod's have produced differing results with the Wicked Wheel.
