IDM Wiring Issue
I'm having trouble identifying the loose wires in the right hand portion of the photo. Have not been able to find a diagram identifying those wires and where they go (if they do) in the IDM plug. One is a light red with a yellow stripe and the other is orange. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you kindly. Any idea what they do?

Sure, they"re both Labeled INJ FEED in the diagram.

Oddly enough, after unplugging the terminal and searching for the appropriate holes for the pin leads, I was unable to find any. Is there a difference between submodel IDM's? Am I missing something?

You're Screwed
![]() There's obviously way more to this story than we've heard. First, you haven't posted the Yr/Mdl of your truck. Second, because you can take Any 7.3 IDM and use it in Any other 7.3 (may not be the right replacement, but it will run) the pin-out has to be the same. I don't know what happened in your case, why the wires were pulled out of the plug, but if the holes they belong in already have other wires in them something Drastic was done by somebody. Start over maybe, put it All back to where it's supposed to be and see if you can make sense of why things were changed. Download this wiring diagram (it's for an '02, but as I said the IDM connections should be the same). The way to read it is to get it in your computer by downloading it. Then open it in Acrobat, magnify it up (like to 33%) and navigate with the "slide bars" around it. Between the color chart and the Pin-Out above you should be able to verify every position. https://sites.google.com/site/woodnt...iring-diagrams Again, you have something Really Odd going on, I'd be afraid it was Much More Complicated that just a couple of wires out of a connector

I left your pic in a tab, and I'm looking at it again...
The first thing I notice is that you have two wires (Green + Violet/Or maybe?) that seem to be going into shrink tubing, separate from the rest of the bundle. They also look like they could, possibly, be going into 23 & 24. Which begs the Question, "does your engine run now?" If so, this could simply be a previous repair that didn't remove those, now replaced, wires. In which case, everything is connected and I'd leave it all alone

That's what is confusing; the truck runs well. I was postulating that maybe they were test leads? Appreciate the feedback. Truck is 2002 F350 xl.
