Hope somebody can help me understand what these codes mean. I'll start by saying the truck starts really hard and wont idle until the engine temp is close to operating temp. My code reader gives me these codes. p1209(injection control system pressure peak fault) p1211(ICP not controlable) p1212(ICP voltage not at expected level). I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks guys.

Check the oil level in your hpop, and welcome to the site! Do you have access to a gauge where you can check the actual icp pressure? It kinda looks like an icp sensor or its wiring.

unplug your ICP sensor and check it to see if there is any oil contamination. Also....try starting the truck with the sensor unplugged. If it runs better....replace the sensor....and if its leaking oil...replace the sensor and cleaen the pigtail...

I hate to sound stupid but im not sure what the "ICP" is.

the icp is a three wire sensor located in the drivers side head near the front of the engine , they are bad to leak, and cause problems, if you are laying over the engine , look just to the right of the fuel filter housing , you should see it , also , just curios if you are running a programmer or chip if so then a p1209 and p1211 can be set just by running a programmer , and your cold start problem may be something else , like worn injectors

I Have an Edge programmer. I was running it on the low setting but when it started acting up I set it back to normal. Would a fuel heater keep it from running after it starts up? I put 50000 btu heater under it yesterday and it would start and run fine for 10 to 15 seconds and the die. I could start it up again and it would do the same thing.

the edge programmer can cause those codes , at this point , if it were mine i would leave the truck reprogrammed to stock, that way whatever code it gives is a legitimate code , then start doing some diag , like has the oil been changed recently and is it full, what your describing sounds like possible low oil problem, then i would check for fuel pressure ,the fuelheater you installed is one that sticks to the side of the block it will not cause it not to run , i am curious why you wouldnt use the factory block heater

P1316 IS INJECTOR ELECTRIA CODES SET BY THE SHORT HARNESS UNDER THE VALVE COVER LOOSE ON ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER , NEEDS AN INJECTOR BUZZ TEST RUN TO FIND OUT WHICH SIDE ,IF YOU DONT HAVE ACCESS, TO A GOOD SCANNER TO DO THAT , REMOVE VALVE COVERS ONE AT A TIME , YOUUL SEE WHICH ONE IT IS
