u probably got air in the line somewheres when i ran out of fuel. did u prime the engine again? crack your fuel filter and prime the engine and make sure all the air is out of the line. or sometimes when they run out of fuel they screw injectors up but i would start with trying to bleed the lines

wehn you filled it with diesel did you just put it in the tank or fill the fuel bowl up as well? we had an older 7.3 and one of the guys ran it outa diesel and it would run so but it looked like it wasnt pumping enough fuel into the bowl, so i toped that off and it was back to normal. hope that helps just my 1 1/2 cents

PSD's self prime and purge the air as they run. So if it's running it is primed and unless you have a pin hole sucking in air it has or will purge it out. No hand pump or any thing like that on a PSD. Check your fuel pressure as it runs and see what you have. Also double check the filter and the fuel hater in the bottom of the fuel bole.
