I have a F250 7.3. I have just replaced the vacuum pump fixing my brakes. No longer have to be superman to use the brake petal. However, it did not fix a real poroblem I still have. The truck has to warmup for a very long time to work. Even after the engine gets to full tempature, until the transmission temperature is over 125F, I can barely run the engine is so sluggish-almost zero power and no response or controll. When it decides to go, it acts like nothing is wrong. However, if I am not on the freeway, I have to turn of overdrive to keep it from constantly downshifting. Any ideas why this 7.3 acts this way. If I use the electric heater it does speed up the process noticeably. So temperature is related to one of the problems for sure. Please help! Thanks. Jay |

None of the above.
EBPV (Exhaust Back Pressure Valve) Normal condition when it's cold. Unplug the valve and it won't do it anymore. |
