Think I may have Fuel Problem

Hey guys, I have a 99 f350 with 295,000 miles on it. I read another guys post and he was having the same problem and he had low fuel pressure from a callasped filter. The problem is when I go up hills or put the truck under strain it loose power. I will go from 55 to 40 up an average size hill, even small hills, still loose some speed. I took the truck in to ford to fix a diesel leak from the drain tube and then let it sit in the yard for about two months with minimal driving and after that is when I noticed this problem. I just put a superchip on it and set it on the lowest setting (because I haven't got my gauges yet) and it did not help any. I read in that same post as earlier mentioned that there is a place to check fuel pressure at the back of the heads, does it take anything special to check the pressure on these truck. I have a tester for you average car. Need some help guys!!

There is a fitting on the back of the fuel bowl that is a #4 O ring boss fitting. You can put an adaptor in there to attach to a fuel pressure gauge you may have laying around. My first one was an oil filled 100psi hydraulic gauge. The gauge should be at least 60psi, most are 100psi. The 7.3 should have between 45-60psi.
