New plugs and questions...
Been having some hard start issues in the AM latelyI checked the GPR, it's good with a steady 11 volts going out of it. found 3 dead glow plugs. I ordered the ZD 11 plugs on Ebay and will tackle that as soon as I get them. The process sounds like a PITA but straight forward. MY question is should I replace the harnesses under the valve covers at the same time? My truck has 230K on it and as far as I know the plugs or any thing under has ever been replaced.
Thanks. |

Wouldn't hurt, you'll be in there. And you might mess up wires doing it so, yes.

the new dorman and napa uvch's are a one piece design as well. so no more uvch connectors coming unbuckled. use those if you're going to replace them

thanks for the advice. New twist on this. When i was rebhecking the gpr i accidently touched the lead going to the passenger side plugs and got a brief spark. The key was off then. Would this indicate my relay may be going bad ? Didnt think that should happen.

one terminal on the GPR should be live with the key off and if i remember its the large terminal on the passenger side..once you have the key/ignition on both large terminals will be live sending power to the glow plugs.
If you have power going to the plugs with the key off you could have a problem with the GPR sticking.. |
