PEDESTAL CHANGE

I have a 97 E-350 7.3 that the valve in the pedestal is leaking and have not been able to fine a new valve except from ford high$$$$$ i have been told that I could take the valve out and plug the hole with a tap and do away with it all together as it will not make a lot of difference in Arkansas were I live. What effect is this going to have on it? I've read some threads where guys have talked about putting pedestal on that do not have this valve. Any comments greatly appreciated.

I have a 99 E450 with a pedestal leaking, too, and have the same question. Anyone out there have any suggestions on what to do with these?

What is the difference between the van pedestal and a pickup pedestal? Can a non EBP or a non valve pedestal fit in its place?

Thanks.
Jim

pedestal change

I went down to Brian's and they welded the two oil inlet holes inside and i am going to plug the actuator rod hole with a pipe plug after i tap the hole. Then I am going to fix the ebpv open or take the valve out completely.
